Marwan ‘DJ Bliss’ Parham is the first of his kind in the powerful city of Dubai, being undoubtedly among a very select and small group of Emiratis expanding their career and taking their talent Internationally.
A winner of the TimeOut Nightlife Awards in 2011 for ‘Best Local DJ’ and winner in 2012 for ‘Best Urban Night’ for his 411 Saturdays, Marwan has also been named in the ‘Ahlan HOT 100′ four years running 2009/2010/2011/2012. Being voted for ‘Bachelor of the Year’ by VIVA 2008 and 2009 and Cosmopolitan Middle East in 2011, Marwan has established himself as the UAE’s leading personality.
Creating a union between music and life, Marwan has recently celebrated 10 years as a DJ and is in his third year of being part of the Dubai One family with his new and third consecutive show ‘That’s Entertainment’, aired in October 2011. Spending two years on the youth inspired ’20 Something (Season 1 & 2)’ and the show which brought alive the culture of the UAE ‘Emirati’, Marwan has turned into the region’s most wanted MC and DJ for awards, charity events, corporate events, nightclubs, concerts and auctions.
Working alongside the UAE’s royal families, Marwan has been privileged to host the ‘Sports for a Better World’ under the patronage of HRH Princess Haya and the Sports Accord Convention as well as the Dubai International Film Festival 2009/2010/2011, Gulf Film Festival 2010/2011, the launch of Costa Cruise Line, the Cartier Polo Challenge, the Dubai World Cup at Meydan, WOMAD and various corporate power houses such as BMW, BlackBerry and Gucci. Marwan also had the honor of bringing Dubai into the New Year for 2011 and hosted the opening ceremony in 2010 for the world’s tallest tower the ‘Burj Khalifa.’ Abu Dhabi’s Formula 1 2009/2010/2011 presented the opportunity to warm up for Beyonce, Prince, Nelly Furtado, Taio Cruz, Tinchy Stryder, Jamiroquai, Kings of Leon, Wyclef Jean and Aerosmith taking him to a new level of achievement.
2011 brought along Marwan’s first International tour and the first Emirati DJ to go global. Commencing in Amsterdam with five back-to-back gigs the tour continued through Europe performing in London, Zurich, Munich, Marbella and Antwerp’s most prestigious clubs ending his tour with Marrakesh and Beirut. With the success of his 2011 tour, the demands have brought along a second world tour in the summer of 2012.
Releasing his first album ‘The Projects’ with BMGI, entering the TOP 10 at Virgin Megastores in 2003, led him to winning the Middle East Regional ‘PALME DJ of the Year Award’ in 2004 solidified his career and reputation. By 2006, Bliss was given a position as a radio DJ for Radio1, the Number 1 hit music station in the UAE, with his ‘Daily Drive-time’ show and his established weekend ‘The Real Flava’ show for four year. With ‘The Real Flava’ turning into an events label, Marwan has DJ’d in the region’s top venues as a residence and guest performer.
Regularly interviewing celebrities, such as Usher, KanYe West, Akon, Sean Paul, Sean Kingston, Quincy Jones, Metallica, Jay Sean, Paris Hilton the Black Eyed Peas, Marwan has expanded his reputation on an international level by being named the Middle East’s representative of Beats by Dr.Dre.
Recently tying up with the city’s #1 venue, PEOPLE by Crystal, the self made and legendary ‘411 Saturdays’ celebrated the launch of its new home after a successful year at Armani Prive’ at the Burj Khalifa. Now The Real Flava’s award winning night, as ‘Best Urban Night’ by TimeOut Dubai, ‘411 Saturdays’ is making noise about going regional in 2012.
2012, Bliss Inc Entertainment was born with QB7 Studios, 411Nights, The Real Flava, and Beats and Cuts Barbers on it’s wing. The successful company expanded massively launching new business ventures under the Bliss Inc team of Marwan DJ BLISS. QB7 Studios is the music production arm, 411Nights the internationally-acclaimed 411 party series, The Real Flava being the entertainment and lifestyle source and the unique personalized barber services of Beats and Cuts.
2013, sees the rise of Marwan venturing to more of music production. Early part of the year, he did a song with Kardinal Offishall, “Let It Go” which was shot and recorded in the UAE. Plus hosting and being a recognized act for Nicki Minaj concert, My Music X Festival, and gigs between Europe, USA, and the Middle East. Indeed, creating the Bliss Empire which he once dreamt of and put everything into reality. Also one of the highlights for the first half of 2013, is “Writer’s Block”, the lead track of HipHop legend Wyclef jean’s new album, April Showers. The track which he produced with fellow Emirati musician, Prince Q, which is getting good airplay in the UAE and international music scene.
Marwan has also started his acting career, with the short film, Faith In Love by Alwiya Al Thani, which will be launched soon. Also two big endorsement ads with Chrysler Middle East and Connect App. With more projects, in store for the young successful Emirati, 2013 is really looking to shine forth the Bliss horizon.
